News India Live, Digital Desk: JSSC CGL Paper Leak Case: An important hearing was held in Jharkhand High Court on Monday in Jharkhand’s most talked about JSSC CGL paper leak case. In this case, the hearing on the petitions demanding a CBI investigation and a ban on releasing the merit list of the examination has been completed. The bench of Chief Justice MS Ramachandra Rao and Justice Hirath has reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of all the parties. Now the final decision in this matter will be announced later, due to which the heartbeats of thousands of candidates have increased.

What is the whole matter?

The question paper of the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) examination conducted by Jharkhand Staff Selection Commission (JSSC) was leaked even before the examination on January 28 this year. After this incident, there was a huge uproar in the entire state and the government canceled the examination. A Special Investigation Team (SIT) was formed to investigate the case, which has made several arrests so far.

Why is there a demand for CBI investigation?

Seeing the seriousness of the matter, many candidates and student organizations filed a petition in the High Court, expressing dissatisfaction with the investigation by the SIT and demanded a CBI investigation into the entire matter. Advocates Ajit Kumar and Amritansh Vats, appearing for the petitioners, argued that this is a huge scam, the links of which may be linked to many influential people. He says that only an impartial agency like CBI can get to the bottom of this scam and bring out the truth.

What is the stand of the government and JSSC?

At the same time, the CBI investigation in this case was opposed by the state government and JSSC. Advocate General Rajeev Ranjan told the court that the SIT is doing very good work in this case and has collected many important clues so far. He argued that handing over the case to CBI just before the filing of the charge sheet could hamper the investigation process. JSSC also said that till the investigation is going on, the release of merit list of the exam should be put on hold.

Now all eyes are on the final decision of Jharkhand High Court. Only the court’s decision will decide whether this much talked about paper leak scandal will be investigated by CBI or SIT, and what will be the future of the canceled examination.
