News India Live, Digital Desk: The winter season brings with it lots of fun, but it also brings with it runny nose, mild cold and fussy kids. In this season, the biggest concern of parents is that what to feed the child that will keep him warm from inside and he will not get bored while eating.

It is easy to make ‘packaged’ soup from outside, but have you ever wondered how much sodium and preservatives it contains? So today we will talk about the way by which you can make the food as velvety and full of taste as in the restaurant. ‘Sweet Corn Soup’ You can prepare it in your kitchen itself.

Why is this soup best for children?
Sweet corn contains fiber which is good for kids’ stomachs, and the vitamins it contains are also wonderful for their eyes and energy levels. The best part is that kids are crazy about its sweet taste!

How to make perfect and healthy soup?

Essential items (available in your kitchen):

  • sweet corn: One to one and a half cups (boiled).
  • Vegetables: Finely chopped carrots, beans and capsicum (kids won’t even realize they’ve eaten veggies!).
  • Ginger-Garlic: Very finely chopped (this will give the soup a real winter touch).
  • Pepper and Salt: According to taste.
  • A little butter or ghee: To fry.

Easy way to make:

  1. Prepare the paste: First of all, grind some boiled sweet corn in a mixer and make a paste. This is the secret step which will give the soup the market like consistency without any adulteration.
  2. Seasoning: Heat some ghee or butter in a pan. Add ginger and garlic and fry until the aroma starts coming out. (Remember, both of these are very helpful in protecting from cold).
  3. Vegetable turn: Now add all the chopped vegetables and whole sweet corn grains and stir for 2 minutes.
  4. Water and Boil: Now add 2-3 cups of water (or vegetable stock) and also add the corn paste that we made in the mixer.
  5. Let it cook: Let the soup boil on low flame for 5-7 minutes. When you feel that the soup is starting to thicken a little, add salt and freshly ground black pepper to it as per taste.
  6. Finishing Touch: Top with finely chopped coriander or a squeeze of lemon juice—this will double the taste!

A little advice from me:
If your child prefers a thicker soup, you can also add a little oats powder, which is a much healthier option than cornflour.

It will hardly take 15 minutes to make this soup, but the nutrition in each sip will keep your child energetic and fit throughout the winter. So what are you waiting for? Make it this evening itself and see how your child drinks it on demand!
