News India Live, Digital Desk: As soon as winter arrives, fresh green peas arrive in the market. If you are bored of eating potato and cauliflower parathas for breakfast, then try something new this time. Today we will tell you such an easy way to make green pea paratha that you will want to make it every other day.

This paratha is not only delicious to eat, but is also very beneficial for health. Peas are rich in protein and fiber, which keeps you energetic throughout the day. So come on, let’s make hot and fluffy pea parathas without any fuss.

What is required to make Paratha?

For the dough:

  • Wheat flour – 2 cups
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Oil or Ghee – 1-2 teaspoons (to add to the dough)
  • Water – to knead the dough

For stuffing:

  • Fresh green peas – 1 cup
  • Green chillies – 1-2 (you can use more or less as per your taste)
  • Small piece of ginger – about half an inch
  • Coriander – finely chopped
  • Asafoetida – a pinch
  • Cumin powder – half teaspoon
  • Garam Masala – 1/4 tsp
  • Salt – as per taste
  • Oil or ghee – for baking parathas

The easiest way to make:

  1. First prepare the dough: Add wheat flour, salt and one spoon ghee or oil in a vessel and mix well. Now add water little by little and knead a soft dough. Cover the dough and keep it aside for 15-20 minutes so that it sets properly.
  2. Now let’s make the filling: First of all, put peas in the mixer. Also add green chilli and ginger. Now grind it coarsely without adding water. Keep in mind, we do not have to make a paste of it, just keep it coarse.
  3. Mix spices: Now take out the ground peas in a bowl. Add chopped coriander, asafoetida, cumin powder, garam masala and salt as per taste and mix well. Your delicious stuffing is ready.
  4. Rolling and filling paratha: Now take a ball of dough and roll it a little. Place one to one and a half spoon pea stuffing in the middle and close it tightly by holding the edges, like closing a Kachori.
  5. Roll slowly: Now apply a little dry flour on the dough and roll it slowly with light hands. Do not apply too much pressure, otherwise the stuffing may come out.
  6. Bake hot: Heat the pan. Apply some ghee or oil on it and put the paratha. When it gets slightly cooked from one side, turn it and apply ghee on the other side also. Cook the paratha thoroughly until it becomes golden and crisp from both sides.

That’s it, your hot, tasty and nutritious Matar Paratha is ready. Serve it with curd, pickle or your favorite chutney and enjoy the winter sunshine. Believe me, everyone at home will love it!
