The identity of India, the Taj Mahal and the historic Yamuna River associated with it, which once gave life to the symbol of love, is shedding tears on its plight today. This video has exposed this “hellish” form of Yamuna in front of the whole world.
The video clearly shows that exactly the edge of the Taj Mahal, near the Mahtab Bagh, the Yamuna water is black and stagnant (stable), which has a large amount of garbage, plastic waste and other dirt. A thick layer of green moss (algae) has frozen all over the water and a herd of mosquitoes is flying in the air. These scenes are not only disgusting to see, but are also extremely dangerous for the environment and historical heritage.
This polluted form of the Yamuna river which is mentioned with the grandeur of the Taj Mahal can also damage the foundation of the Taj Mahal. Significantly, the foundation of the Taj Mahal was previously strengthened with the help of wood, which used to continuously get moisture from water. But now Yamuna is mostly dry and during the monsoon, the dirty water of garbage, drain is filled, due to which it only becomes a pile of dirt. This is not only unfortunate for tourism, but also a serious threat to the surrounding environment and the health of the people, which can spread diseases like malaria and dengue.
This video of the evening is a warning that we should be serious about our rivers and natural assets. This video is appealing to the administration of Agra and the government to immediately pay attention to the revision and cleanliness of Yamuna, so that this seventh wonder of the world in future can be freed from such dirty surroundings and tourists coming to Agra can experience a clean and beautiful India.
