The Uttar Pradesh government has approved administrative and financial sanctions totaling ₹18.41 crore (₹18,41,03,000) for the financial year 2026-27 to aggressively upgrade police infrastructure across multiple districts. Spearheaded by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath, the initiative targets the construction of modern non-residential buildings, high-capacity barracks, specialized investigation rooms, and vital operational facilities. State authorities have directed all designated executing agencies to maintain strict quality standards and adhere to a firm execution deadline of March 31, 2027.
The multi-district allocation covers crucial administrative hubs, including Mathura, Baghpat, Pratapgarh, Sultanpur, Moradabad, Fatehpur, Ghaziabad, and Aligarh. The comprehensive package addresses long-standing spatial shortages and outdated amenities within police stations, police lines, and Provincial Armed Constabulary (PAC) establishments across western and eastern Uttar Pradesh.
Major Allocations for Mathura, Baghpat, and Pratapgarh
In Mathura, the administration has earmarked ₹2.08 crore for comprehensive civil work within the Reserve Police Lines, which includes building a robust stormwater drainage system and a 50-meter boundary wall. An additional ₹1.25 crore has been cleared to build non-residential infrastructure for the Barauli police outpost operating under the Baldeo police station jurisdiction. The Uttar Pradesh Awas Vikas Parishad and C&DS UP Jal Nigam have been designated as the nodal executing agencies for these Mathura projects.
Moving toward western UP, the Chhaprauli police station complex in Baghpat district will see the construction of a 32-capacity personnel hostel-cum-barrack alongside a dedicated investigation room, backed by a ₹1.76 crore budget. In Pratapgarh district, administrative capability receives a boost with ₹89.59 lakh sanctioned to build a new office for the Circle Officer (CO) at Raniganj.
Expanding Operational Capacity in Sultanpur, Moradabad, and Fatehpur
The state government has focused heavily on law-and-order logistics in Sultanpur, where a combined outlay of ₹5.73 crore has been allocated. Under this provision, Kadipur police station receives ₹2.89 crore, while Kotwali Nagar gets ₹2.84 crore to build 48-capacity barracks and state-of-the-art investigation rooms at each location under the Uttar Pradesh Rajkiya Nirman Nigam.
Similarly, Moradabad’s Kotwali Nagar police station has been sanctioned ₹2.70 crore to erect a 48-capacity barrack coupled with a modern investigation chamber. In Fatehpur, a substantial sum of ₹2.39 crore will fund the construction of an expansive multipurpose hall designed to cater to 200 security personnel at the 12th Battalion PAC headquarters.
Modernizing Facilities in Ghaziabad and Aligarh
Infrastructure upgrades in the National Capital Region include an allocation of ₹1.04 crore to replace deteriorating electrical wiring across the Reserve Police Lines in Ghaziabad, eliminating safety hazards and stabilizing power delivery. In Aligarh, ₹57.69 lakh has been approved to build two dedicated halls for the GP Store inside the district police line premises.
The Uttar Pradesh Police Awas Nigam Limited has been tasked with overseeing the completion of projects in Ghaziabad, Aligarh, Fatehpur, and Moradabad. This targeted funding infusion serves as a major step toward smart policing, equipping field personnel with functional accommodation, digitized workspaces, and upgraded institutional support across the state.
