He had given clear orders to the Health Department and FSDA that action should be taken under the Gangster Act against the ‘blood merchants’ who are playing with the lives of the general public. Now blood will be available only at licensed centers in the capital

After this action, the Health Department of Lucknow has appealed to the public to take blood only from authorized and government recognized blood banks. The list of sealed blood banks will be made public soon so that no patient gets confused. FSDA Commissioner said that the blood samples seized from these centers have been sent to the lab to find out whether there was any adulteration or infection in the blood. If the infection is confirmed in the investigation, a case will be registered against the operators under non-bailable sections and they will be sent to jail.
