After all, what is the new rule?
If we understand in simple language, the government has fixed the ‘diet’ of the cows. Now the quantity of how much chaff, how much green fodder and how much grain (nutritious food) is to be given to a cow or cattle in a day has been fixed. This was necessary because often on paper it was shown that there was a full meal, but in reality the animals were getting only half their fill.
Rates also locked
Corruption occurs most in purchasing. Suppose straw is priced at Rs 500 in the market, then some people used to make a bill of Rs 800. To stop this ‘game’, the administration has now started purchasing fodder, straw and grains. Maximum Rate (Price Cap) Has decided.
Now the cowshed operators will have to purchase goods within the same fixed rate. If they buy more than this, they will have to answer.
Cows’ health will be affected
This decision was not only important for saving money but also for saving the lives of helpless animals. Providing food in the right quantity and quality will reduce the incidence of cows falling ill or dying due to malnutrition in cowsheds. This new rule will prove to be a lifesaver for cows, especially during the cold and rainy seasons when there is a shortage of fodder.
Right step in the eyes of the public
Honestly, this step should have been taken long ago. This is public tax money which is given in the name of cow service. If this money goes to the right place i.e. into the stomachs of the cows and not into the pockets of the corrupt system, then only the real objective of ‘cow protection’ will be fulfilled.
Now it remains to be seen how strictly the officials on the ground follow this rule. But the beginning has been strong!
