What is e-KYC and why is it important?

This simply means that you have to link your ration card with Aadhaar card and get your identity verified through biometric (thumb impression). The government is taking this step to ensure that government ration reaches the right and needy people and to remove fake ration cards from the system. This work is necessary for every member of the family whose name is in the ration card.

What will happen if it is not done by 30th November?

If you do not get this work done by 30th November, then the government will assume that your ration card is either fake or you are no longer eligible to get government ration. After this, getting food grains from your ration card will stop. That means, you may stop getting wheat, rice and other things.

Where and how to get e-KYC done?

You can easily get this work done by visiting your nearest ration dealer (kotedar) shop. This process is completed by placing a thumb impression on the e-POS machine installed there. There is no fee for this, it is absolutely free.

So don’t delay. If you or anyone in your family has not yet done e-KYC, then before 30th November This work must be completed, otherwise you may stop getting government ration.
