Talking about Mahabharata, Arjuna’s son is mentioned. It tells how Abhimanyu got stuck in Chakravyuh. But do you know everything about Abhimanyu? There are many stories in Mahabharata and Abhimanyu’s story is equally important among them. According to the legend of Mahabharata written by Ved Vyas, Abhimanyu was the son of Arjuna and Lord Krishna’s sister Subhadra. At the same time, it is also mentioned in the Mahabharata that Abhimanyu was the son of Chandradev. Let us know who was Abhimanyu and why he could not get out of the labyrinth

Why was Abhimanyu a young age?

When all the gods and goddesses descended on earth with Lord Krishna, the son of the moon also had to come to the earth. But due to attachment to the moon, he became young. In fact, Lord Krishna knew that the era of Mahabharata was going to be a war-transit war in future, so he requested all the gods to send his sons.

Chandradev was very disappointed to hear Shri Krishna’s words, but still, while respecting Shri Krishna, he allowed his son to be sent to the earth, but at the same time Chandradev said that he cannot stay away from his son for longer, so he will send him to the earth for a very short time. This was the reason that Abhimanyu was a young age, that is, he was only 16 years old on Earth.

What was this labyrinth really?

In the story of Mahabharata, you must have heard the mention of Chakravyuh many times, but still many people do not know what Chakravyuh is? The labyrinth is a multi -level defensive military structure, which is used to surround a large warrior. It is also considered a very efficient art of war.

When viewed from above, Chakravyuh resembles a cycle or lotus. It is said that each of its door is protected by a great warrior. Dronacharya, the chief commander of the Kauravas in the Mahabharata, used this structure to catch Dharmaraja Yudhishthira. But Abhimanyu pledged to break Chakravyuh to protect Yudhishthira and entered Chakravyuh alone, showing amazing courage and valor at the age of 16.

Why couldn’t Abhimanyu Chakravyuh break?

Abhimanyu bravely entered the Chakravyuh but could not get out of it because he did not know the way out of the Chakravyuh and the reason, as stated in the Mahabharata, is an incident before his birth. When Abhimanyu was in the womb of his mother Subhadra, Arjuna taught his wife Subhadra the art of breaking the Chakravyuh. At that time, Abhimanyu was also listening to the story of breaking the Chakravyuh from his mother’s womb, but when Arjuna started telling about the art of getting out of the Chakravyuh, Subhadra fell asleep in a deep sleep and thus the child in the womb, that is, could not understand the way to get out of the Abhimanyu Chakravyuh.

This labyrinth was created for the Pandavas.

On the 13th day of the war, when the war began on the battlefield of Kurukshetra, the Kauravas created a cycle with the aim of trapping the Pandavas. Only four warriors knew the art of escaping from this Chakravyuh and these warriors were Shri Krishna, Arjuna, Guru Dronacharya and Pradyuman. During the war, Veer and mighty warrior Abhimanyu entered the Chakravyuh and started fighting very bravely. According to the legend described in the Mahabharata, Abhimanyu crossed the 6 phases of Chakravyuh but he got trapped in the final stages and after that the Kauravas forgot their war strategy and surrounded Abhimanyu.

Seven warriors killed Abhimanyu.

Slaughtering Abhimanyu in the Mahabharata is considered a very cowardly task, as 7 warriors, keeping the witness aside, defeated a brave warrior and attacked Abhimanyu one after the other. Abhimanyu was killed by Dronacharya, Duryodhana, Karna, Jayadratha, Ashwatthama, Dushasana, Vrishabhasen and other Kauravas who came together. Abhimanyu, the great heroic warrior of Mahabharata, trapped in the Chakravyuh, left this world at the age of 16 and wrote the immortal story of never ending bravery.
