Chhath Puja guidelines in Ranchi, FIR announced on writing names on ghats and encroachment

To prevent chaos and encroachment during Chhath Puja, the district administration has issued new guidelines. Under this, writing any kind of name or encroaching on Chhath Ghats will now be a crime, and FIR (First Information Report) will be registered against those doing so.

What are the new guidelines?

• Ban on writing names on ghats: During Chhath Puja, people often write their names, mobile numbers or any messages on the walls of ghats, stairs or other public places. The administration has completely banned it. Action will be taken against those who do so.
• Strict action on encroachment: Any kind of illegal construction or encroachment around Chhath Ghats or on the ghats will not be tolerated. FIR will also be registered against those who try to capture the land of the ghats.
• Security of Public Property: This step has been taken with the aim of protecting public property and maintaining the sacred atmosphere of Chhath Puja. The administration wants Chhath Ghat to remain accessible and clean for everyone.
• awareness campaign: The administration will also run a campaign to make people aware about these rules, so that all Chhath fasting people and devotees follow these rules.

Why was this step taken?

Every year during Chhath Puja, crowds gather at various Chhath Ghats in Ranchi. Many times it is seen that people write names in public places for their identity or publicity, and some people take up illegal occupation around the ghats.
