Covid-19 vaccination: India administers over 90-lakh doses today

The new phase of universalisation of COVID-19 vaccination commenced from June 21.

India on Friday administered more than 90 lakh COVID-19 vaccine doses, the highest ever vaccination achieved in a single day, the Union Health Ministry said.

In a tweet, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya said, “Congratulations to the citizens as India today administers historic 90 lakh #COVID19 vaccines until now – and still counting! Crossed fingers.”

Also, the Union Health Ministry on Friday informed that more than 4.05 crore Covid vaccine doses are still available with states and Union Territories for inoculation.

Over 58.86 crore vaccine doses have been provided to the states and Union Territories so far and more than 17.64 lakh doses are in the pipeline, the ministry said in a statement.

It said more than 4.05 crore balance and unutilized COVID-19 vaccine doses are still available with the states and Union Territories for inoculation.
