No compromise on terrorism anymore
Jaishankar explained the difference between the old and new policy by giving the example of the 26/11 Mumbai attack. He said, “Earlier, when there was an attack like Mumbai, we used to focus on blaming Pakistan. The world also used to say that both countries should be restrained. But it is not so now.” Referring to the surgical strikes and Balakot AIRIRIRAC after the Uri and Pulwama attacks, he said that now the world knows that India will not sit silent on terrorism, but will give a befitting reply to every attack on its land.
China’s direct challenge on the border
On the ongoing border dispute with China, Jaishankar said that our relationship with China is not normal, as they violated the agreements and deployed a large number of soldiers on the border. In response, India has also deployed unprecedented deployment of its army. He insisted, “We are completely firm about the safety of our boundaries. Relationships cannot be normal until peace is established on the border.” This shows that India is no longer ready to bow under any pressure.
India’s stature increased in the world
The Foreign Minister said that today the world listens to India. The successful chairmanship of G20 is the greatest proof of this. He said that India now not only talks about its interests, but is also becoming a ‘troubleshooter’ for the world. When Sri Lanka was struggling with economic crisis, India went ahead and helped. This reflects the thinking of ‘Vishwaguru Bharat’.
Security of every Indian ‘Modi’s guarantee’
Jaishankar also emphasized that every Indian living abroad is important for the Modi government. Referring to campaigns to secure Indian citizens from Ukraine, Sudan and other struggle areas, he said, “It is ‘Modi’s guarantee’ that if anyone is in an Indian crisis in any corner of the world, its government will bring back it safely.”
