Milwaukee Bucks Beat Phoenix Suns To Win First NBA Title After A 50-Year Dry Spell

[ad_1]

With home court advantage, the Milwaukee Bucks’ young star and two-time league most valuable player Giannis Antetokounmpo (14 rebounds and 50 points) scored nearly half of his team’s points to power Bucks to a historic 105-98 win in game six of the 2021 NBA Finals at Fiserv Forum in Milwaukee on July 20, 2021.

The Bucks defeated Phoenix Suns four games to two in the series to become NBA champions once again after a 50-year dry spell. It was in the 1971 NBA Finals last time, when Kareem Abdul-Jabbar-led Western Conference Champion Milwaukee Bucks had swept Baltimore Bullets in four games to win the league’s championship.

Since the blocks were recorded in 1974, Giannis Antetokounmpo, just 26-years-old, is now the first player ever to have at least five blocks, 40 points and 10 rebounds in a NBA Final game.

Scoring 26 points for the Suns, Chris Paul showcased a dominating performance as well but not enough to power his team to a win in the finals even. It was for the third time that the franchise lost in the finals of the league. Bucks attained NBA championship for the second time and a spectacular performance from Giannis Antetokounmpo made him being adjudged the NBA Finals MVP.
