The US Central Command (CENTCOM) has released a video giving details of this action. The attack came after intelligence reports emerged that Iran was preparing to lay explosive mines in the Strait of Hormuz, the world’s most important oil supply route.
Initial Attack: President Trump had earlier informed about the destruction of 10 ships, which the army later increased to 16.
Motive: The purpose of this operation is to destroy Iran’s ability to stop international shipping and oil supplies.

Trump’s direct warning to Iran
President Trump has given an ultimatum to Iran by posting on his social media platform ‘Truth Social’:
“If Iran has laid any mines in the Strait of Hormuz, they IMMEDIATELY Should be removed. If this does not happen, the military consequences will be on a scale never seen before.”
He also said that if Iran itself removes these mines, it will be a big step towards reducing tension.

The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow sea passage between Oman and Iran that connects the Persian Gulf to the Gulf of Oman.
