Indian cricket team’s star opener Prithvi Shaw was adjudged Man of the Match in the India vs Sri Lanka 1st ODI of the three-match series against Sri Lanka after the young talented batsman played a blistering innings of 43 runs off just 24 balls to put pressure on the Sri Lankan team in the initial overs itself.

India won the Ind vs SL 1st ODI by seven wickets to take a 1-0 lead in the series. Reacting to Shaw’s heroics, his rumored girlfriend and actress Prachi Singh has congratulated the young batsman by posting congratulatory messages via an Instagram story, which has gone quite viral. The actress used a Heart emoticon to praise Prithvi Shaw.

Apart from Prithvi Shaw, captain Shikhar Dhawan scored 86 not out and debutant Ishan Kishan scored 59 runs.  Suryakumar Yadav also made his ODI debut with this match and returned unbeaten after scoring 31 off 20 balls.

Chasing 263 for the win, India had crossed the 50-run mark in the first five overs, courtesy power-packed hitting from Prithvi Shaw. He hit nine fours during his 43-run innings.  

Sri Lanka won the toss and decided to bat first.  After a long time, Kuldeep Yadav and Yuzvendra Chahal were seen bowling together for team India and took two wickets each.  Apart from this, Deepak Chahar also bagged two wickets. Chamika Karunaratne contributed the highest not out of 43 runs for Sri Lanka.  The second match of the series will be played on July 20.
