Punjab: Two Pakistani Intruders Were Shot Dead By BSF In Ferozepur

Ferozepur: Two Pakistani intruders were shot dead by the Border Security Force along the International Border in Punjab’s Ferozepur on July 30th. The Border Security Force Punjab Frontier in a statement said that the intruders were shot at 8:48 pm on Friday. 

The BSF troops noticed suspicious movement near the border fence just before they open fire.

“On July 30, 2021, at about 2048 hours, BSF troops deployed in AOR of BOP, Thehkelan (Amarkot), Ferozepur observed suspicious movement of intruders sneaking inside Indian territory between a border post,” the BSF statement was quoted by ANI.

Initially, the troops challenged the intruders and told them to stop. But they did not pay any heed despite repeated warnings and the two intruders continued to move towards the Indian side in an attempt to cross the border fence.

Thereafter, they were fired upon and both the Pakistani intruders were shot dead. 

A detailed investigation is underway to further shed light on the matter.

Meanwhile, in Jammu and Kashmir’s border district of Rajouri, a possible tragedy was averted due to the timely detection of IED planted by suspected terrorists under a culvert at Bathooni-Dilogra on the Jammu-Rajouri national highway. It was subsequently defused by the bomb disposal squad of the Army at 9.10 am, the officials informed on Saturday. 

Besides this, in another security-related development, an encounter broke out between security forces and militants in the Pulwama district of Jammu and Kashmir on Saturday, police said.

Two unidentified terrorists were neutralized in the Dachigam forest area in Jammu and Kashmir’s Pulwama on Saturday. Army and police are on the job and a search operation is underway.
