Ravi Shastri Says Isolation ‘Bloody Frustrating’ After Fully Vaccinated Bharat Arun Returns

[ad_1]

After team India’s throwdown specialist Dayanand Gerani had tested Coronavirus positive, some team coaches and players had to isolate themselves in the past few weeks after coming in contact with Gerani, as per United Kingdom health protocols. Rishabh Pant has recently joined the Indian contingent after testing Covid-19 negative and completing his 10-day isolation.

The wicket-keeper batsman had tested Covid-19 positive on July 8. India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun also had to isolate himself after coming in contact with a Coronavirus positive person.

India cricket team head coach Ravi Shastri on Saturday expressed disappointment over the 10-day isolation rule for vaccinated people who comes in contact with a Covid-19 positive person, as India’s bowling coach Bharat Arun was already vaccinated and had completed his vaccination course.

“My right hand back in the house. Looking fitter and stronger after being in isolation for 10 days even though testing negative all the way. Bloody frustrating these isolation rules. 2 jabs of vaccine has to be trusted,” Shastri wrote on Twitter along with posting a selfie with bowling coach Bharat Arun.

As per UK health regulations, bowling coach Arun, senior wicketkeeper Wriddhiman Saha and stand-by opener Abhimanyu Easwaran were asked to remain in isolation for 10 days after they came in contact with throwdown specialist-cum-masseur Dayanand Garani.

The trio returned to the team’s bio bubble on Saturday after completing a one-and-a-half-week mandatory quarantine. Despite testing Coronavirus negative in the RT-PCR test, all three had to be isolated.

Wriddhiman Saha recovered from Covid-19 in May after getting infected with this virus while playing for Sunrisers Hyderabad during the Indian Premier League 2020, which was later postponed after several Covid-19 cases were detected in IPL bio bubble.
