Registration for the Mukhyamantri Mahila Samman Yojana has started today, December 23, ahead of the upcoming assembly elections in Delhi. Under this scheme, financial assistance of ₹ 1,000 will be given every month to women aged 18 years and above. Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) chief and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal launched the registration drive under the scheme in Kidwai Nagar. They helped the women to generate OTP and hand over registration cards. During this period, Delhi Chief Minister Atishi was also present.
Kejriwal’s announcement
Arvind Kejriwal had said a day ago that women do not need to go anywhere for registration.
- Volunteers will go door-to-door to complete the registration process.
- Delhi government had announced this scheme in the budget for the financial year 2024-25.
Promise to increase the amount of the scheme
Recently Kejriwal said that if his party comes to power again in the upcoming assembly elections, under the scheme women will be given ₹2,100 per month instead of ₹1,000.
How to get the benefits of the scheme?
- Registration Process:
- Women will receive a special card after registration.
- This card has to be kept safe.
- Verification Process:
- Verification will be done after application.
- If the verification is successful, women will be informed through notification.
- After this they will be able to avail the benefits of the scheme.
- Eligibility:
- This scheme is for all the women of Delhi.
- However, the following categories of women will not get the benefits of the scheme:
- Government employee.
- Recipient of pension from the government.
- With annual income of more than ₹3 lakh.
- Income tax payer.
Documents required for registration
- Aadhar card.
- PAN card.
- Voter ID card.
- Bank account statement.
- Address proof (like electricity bill, water bill, or ration card).
- Income certificate.
