Indian cricket team’s young talented wicket-keeper batsman Ishan Kishan has so far impressed everyone with both his batting and wicket-keeping in the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka T20 series.

In the first T20 International of the three-match series against Sri Lanka, the way Ishan stumped Sri Lankan captain Dasun Shanaka off Varun Chakravarthy’s delivery reminded the fans of former India skipper Mahendra Singh Dhoni.

Former India captain MS Dhoni, who was famous for his brilliant keeping skills behind the wicket, has stumped many batsmen in a similar way Ishan dismissed Dasun Shanaka during the Ind vs SL 1st T20I. Shanaka had raised his leg slightly from the crease while attempting to connect his bat with the ball but missed it and wicket-keeper Ishan did not let this opportunity go by and quickly got him stumped out to give India the eighth wicket.

With this wicket, Sri Lanka’s hopes of winning the match also ended. Varun Chakravarthy took one wicket for 28 runs in his four overs. The way Ishan Kishan is batting and wicketkeeping in the ongoing India vs Sri Lanka T20I series, it seems that he might be included in national team for the T20 World Cup, later this year.

Ishan Kishan plays for Mumbai Indians in the Indian Premier League (IPL).  He managed to secure a place in Team India’s playing XI in limited overs format on the basis of his excellent performance in IPL and domestic cricket.

Talking about the match, Sri Lanka won the toss and invited India to bat first. India scored 164/5 in 20 overs. In reply, Sri Lankan team got all out after scoring 126 runs in 18.3 overs.  India took a 1-0 lead in the series after registering a 38-run win on Sunday.
