Telangana: YouWeCan Foundation, a foundation started and managed by Yuvraj Singh, a former all-rounder of the Indian cricket team and a member of the two-time World Cup-winning team, has set up 120 Critical Care Unit (CCU) beds at the Government Medical College and General Hospital in Nizamabad, Telangana.
However, the foundation has received financial support from consulting firm Accenture for this. YouWeCan Foundation also provided a variety of medical equipment to the hospital, including BPAP machines, ICU ventilators, patient monitors, crash carts and oxygen cylinders.

Issuing a statement, Yuvraj Singh said, “We have all suffered a lot during the second wave of COVID-19. We lost our loved ones and also struggled for oxygen, ICU beds and other important facilities. “

Yuvraj further said in his statement, “Amid this crisis and loss of lives, I had to go through a personal loss myself, after which I decided to join our doctors and frontline workers and support them in the fight against this deadly virus. Through our first mission of 1000 beds, we are setting up COVID-19 critical care facilities in hospitals across the country to augment the existing capacity of our country.”

Yuvraj Singh inaugurated the facility on Wednesday in the presence of Telangana Home Minister Mahmood Ali along with representatives from Accenture and also some representatives from the hospital.

Yuvraj has retired from international cricket

Yuvraj Singh had bid farewell to international cricket back in 2019. He played his last international match in 2017. He still holds the record for the fastest half-century in International T20 matches.
