A day earlier, there was an uproar in both houses of Bihar over allegations of insulting the national anthem in a public program and Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was fiercely attacked.

When the national anthem played at the inauguration ceremony of Sapak Tukra World Cup 2025, Chief Minister Nitish Kumar came down from the stage and started joining hands with the contestants. Due to which the national anthem had to be stopped. Then when the national anthem started again, Nitish Kumar was seen smiling and was seen saying something by catching the Chief Secretary Deepak Kumar standing next to him.

RJD members brought tricolor, posters and banners to the Legislative Council. On these posters and banners, it was written that insult to the national anthem will not be tolerated under any circumstances.

Leader of Opposition in the Assembly Tejashwi Yadav postponed the proceedings of the House and demanded a discussion on Nitish Kumar’s conduct. Chief Minister Nitish Kumar was also present in the assembly.

Assembly Speaker Nand Kishore Yadav said that the issue can be raised during the Question Hour and at the moment the prescribed proceedings of the House should be allowed. However, RJD MLAs continued slogans and some members reached the seat of the president.

The opposition has demanded that the Chief Minister apologize unconditionally on the issue. Yadav told reporters outside the assembly that this is not a small issue. If the Chief Minister does not apologize, then a bad example will be established.
