Mumbai: Priyadarshan is making a remake of the South film ‘Oppam’. In this, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan will share the screen after many years. It is being told that Akshay Kumar will play the role of villain in this film.
Mohanlal played a strong role in the original Malayalam film.
Akshay Kumar has previously played both comedy and action roles. However, he did not make any special efforts as a villain. It is believed that Akshay is taking this film as an experiment because most of his films have failed.
Priyadarshan is fond of comedy and has already made comedy films with Akshay Kumar. But, this time he is trying Akshay as a villain in a thriller film.
However, the business world is also not very optimistic about this film. According to him, the remakes of South films are no longer popular in Bollywood.
Most of the audience has already watched remarkable films of the South during the OTT era. Even viewers who have not yet seen ‘Oppam’ will now watch this film.
