News India Live, Digital Desk: Bihar Elections: As soon as the assembly elections in Bihar intensified, there has been a big earthquake in the political corridors. Senior Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) leader and MP Manoj Jha has directly moved the country’s largest court, Supreme Court. He has raised serious questions on the entire process being adopted by the Election Commission of India – ECI for elections in Bihar, especially about how to prepare voter list.
Manoj Jha alleges that The current functioning of the Election Commission is not as transparent and accurate as it should be. He has raised 11 such ‘special points’ in his petition, which question the sanctity of the electoral process. These points include alleged disturbances in the voter list, the possibility of fake votes and some processes adopted during the election.
MP Jha demands that the Supreme Court intervene in this matter and direct the Election Commission to adopt a fair and impeccable process that can really be held in Bihar. They believe that if the voter list is not correct, then the election results can also come under suspicion and the public’s trust can waver.
This petition has come at a time when all political parties in Bihar have come into electoral mode. Opposition parties have often questioned the voter list and various aspects related to the election. This initiative of Manoj Jha is an important part of the same link, which has started the legal path to ensure electoral transparency and honesty.
It will now be seen what decision the Supreme Court gives on this sensitive and important matter and whether this initiative of Manoj Jha is able to bring any major change in the methods of the upcoming elections of Bihar.
