If you also live in Ghaziabad, Loni, Muradnagar or Modinagar and are troubled by the potholes on the roads after the rains and the traffic jams caused by them, then there is a big relief news for you. The Uttar Pradesh government has now geared up to improve the dilapidated roads of the city after the monsoon.
The Public Works Department (PWD) has got approval for widening of 3 major roads of Ghaziabad along with repair of about 40 minor roads and link roads.
Which roads will be wide and shining?
Under this big project, the three most congested and important roads of Ghaziabad will be widened, which will reduce the problem of traffic jams to a great extent:
- Service road from NH-9 to Rose Valley School: This service road is often jammed, its widening will make the daily journey easier for lakhs of people.
- Road from Dasna main road to Ikla-Revda Rewari: The widening of this road will improve the connectivity between the countryside and the city.
- Tulsi Niketan to Wazirabad Road (both U-turns): This is a major traffic hotspot. Here, the road near the U-turn will be widened on both sides, so that it is easier for vehicles to turn and there is no jam.
Besides this, around 40 roads in Loni, Muradnagar and Modinagar, where the monsoon had caused the most damage, will also be repaired.
When will we get relief from potholes?
PWD officials say that the tender process for all these works has started, and the repair work of 40 roads will start visible on the ground from the first week of November.
Why was this step necessary?
After the monsoon this year, most of the roads in Ghaziabad had turned into potholes. This was not only wasting people’s commuting time, but the risk of accidents had also increased. The dust flying from the broken roads had made the problem of pollution even more serious.
After the construction of these roads, lakhs of people will not only get relief from potholes and jams, but the journey will also be safe and comfortable.
