New Delhi: The month of November is starting with rain, coolness and chances of snowfall in the mountains. Cyclonic storm ‘Montha’ that arose from the Bay of Bengal still has an impact on many states, due to which the weather patterns have changed. While on one hand the temperature will fall and cold will increase in the plains, on the other hand snowfall can be seen in the hilly states. People in Delhi and NCR may have to face the double blow of cold as well as pollution. Let us know how the November weather is going to be in UP, Bihar, Delhi and other states.
Double attack of pollution and cold in Delhi
Along with cold, the danger of air pollution is also increasing in the capital Delhi and NCR. According to the Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB), Delhi’s air quality index (AQI) has reached the level of 268, which falls in the poor category. The air quality is also poor in cities like Ghaziabad, Noida, Faridabad and Gurugram. According to the Meteorological Department, there is no possibility of heavy rain in Delhi at present, although light drizzle may occur at some places. A new western disturbance will be active from 4-5 November, due to which the cold is likely to increase in Delhi-NCR.
Chance of snowfall in the mountains
November will start with dry weather in hilly states like Uttarakhand and Himachal Pradesh, but there may be a big change in the weather after November 5. The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted snowfall along with heavy rain in high altitude areas of Uttarakhand like Chamoli, Uttarkashi, Bageshwar, Rudraprayag and Pithoragarh.
Rainy season will continue in UP and Bihar
Rain is expected to continue in many districts of Uttar Pradesh. IMD has predicted light to moderate rain in the state till November 5. It may rain especially in cities like Kanpur, Etawah, Ayodhya, Prayagraj and Gorakhpur. An alert of heavy rain along with lightning has also been issued in the eastern parts of Bundelkhand.
The impact of ‘Montha’ storm is also visible in Bihar. Gaya, Bhagalpur, Muzaffarpur and Purnia including the capital Patna may receive light to moderate rain in the next 24 hours. The weather is expected to take a turn in the state after November 2, after which the temperature will drop and the severity of winter will increase.
