Barabanki: There is a big relief news for lakhs of passengers traveling daily between Lucknow, Barabanki and Sitapur. To eliminate the hour-long traffic jam on the road to Dewa Sharif, the National Highway Authority (NHAI) has started preparations for the construction of a new four-lane highway. For this, survey work is going on at a fast pace on two possible routes. After the construction of this bypass, drivers will not need to enter the congested areas of the city, which will save them a lot of time and fuel.

You will get permanent relief from the traffic jam within the city.
At present, passing through Nawabganj area of Barabanki is a big challenge for the travelers. Due to the gathering of e-rickshaws at Patel Tiraha, the jam near the bus station and illegal encroachments along the tracks, the speed of vehicles going from Lucknow towards Deva and Sitapur comes to a halt. This new scheme of the Central and State Government has been made to eliminate this problem, so that the entire traffic pressure is removed from outside the city and the travel of the people can become easier.

These 3 points have become the ‘headache’ of traffic jam.
Three places in the city have become the biggest problem for the devotees and common travelers going to Dewa Sharif. At the very beginning of the journey, a gathering of vehicles near Anand Bhawan creates a traffic jam. After this, as the vehicles cross the overbridge, the railway crossing applies brakes on their speed. Lastly, the accumulation of trucks parked on the road near the FCI warehouse makes the road narrow, leaving people stuck in the traffic jam for hours. To eliminate these obstacles, it has now become mandatory to build a new bypass.

Survey is being done on these two routes, know from where the highway will emerge?
NHAI has started a survey on two major options to free the city from jams, so that the best route can be chosen.

  • first option: This route will start from Safedabad located on Ayodhya-Lucknow National Highway. From here, a new route will be constructed which will cross Gwari Road via Gadia, Mubarakpur and Mohammadpur villages and will directly connect with Deva Road.
  • Second option: Under this plan, a new highway will be developed using Kisan Path and Ring Road of Lucknow, which will cross the Dewa-Chinhat Highway and reach Dewa Sharif directly.

Final seal will be given after survey report
NHAI Engineer Rajkumar Pithoria said that currently intensive survey and brainstorming is going on on both the options of the proposed highway. The department is examining which option would be the best from the technical (construction cost, soil strength) and traffic point of view (which route will have more vehicular pressure). Only after the detailed survey report of both the routes comes, the final decision will be taken and the action plan will be approved. Once this project is completed, the travel experience between Barabanki and Deva will completely change.
