News India Live, Digital Desk: It is said that whenever a new energy comes into politics, it is natural for the old players to be cautious. Now Nitin Naveen’s name has also been added to the list of major changes that have been seen in the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) for some time now. As soon as he was handed over the responsibility of President (or important command), discussions became heated in the corridors of the party.

Now the question is, why has one appointment brought lines of worry on the forehead of senior party leaders?

Sound of change and fear of ‘seniority’
Actually, BJP has been on the path of ‘generation shift’ for some time. The high command is now more inclined towards such young faces who are active on the ground and can give a new edge to the party for the upcoming elections. The arrival of Nitin Naveen is like a signal for those big and veteran leaders who had been maintaining their influence for years. They fear that in the new system will they get the same importance as they have been getting till now?

factionalism and new equation
There are small and big factions in every party. Nitin Naveen getting command is also being seen as strengthening of a particular group. In such a situation, the leaders who were at the top in the party’s decisions till yesterday, are now feeling that their grip may be loosened, from ticket distribution to major decisions of the organization. It is not just a matter of a position, but a fight for future tickets and stature.

Will Nitin Naveen be able to maintain balance?
The path in front of Nitin Naveen is not that easy. On one hand, he has to take along the youthful enthusiasm, and on the other hand, he also has to handle senior leaders who have a wealth of experience. When experience and passion collide in politics, the biggest challenge is to maintain coordination.

This uneasiness within the party is not part of any protest, but a natural reaction to the coming changes. Now it remains to be seen how united the party appears in the coming elections after this new responsibility.
