Addressing a public gathering ahead of the Bharatiya Janata Party’s (BJP) “Loktantra Bachao, Arajakta Hatao” (Save Democracy, Remove Anarchy) padayatra in Gorakhpur, BJP National President Nitin Nabin launched a scathing offensive against the Congress party and Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi. Taking a sharp dig at Congress’s political standing, Nabin remarked that the Congress party is welcome to keep Rahul Gandhi, asserting that if the party continues under his leadership, no one will be left in the future to even take the Congress party’s name.
Sharp Barbs Over Opposition Leadership and Public Trust
Nabin emphasized that no amount of misleading narratives or rhetoric from Rahul Gandhi would succeed in swaying voters.
He stated that India’s 140 crore citizens view Prime Minister Narendra Modi not just as a national leader, but as the country’s Pradhan Sevak and Chowkidar.
The BJP chief highlighted that the opposition’s repeated electoral defeats stem from a failure to work on the ground with party cadres and the public, rather than institutional factors.
Focus on 2027 UP Polls and the Opposition’s Mobilization
The Gorakhpur rally, attended by prominent National Democratic Alliance (NDA) figures including Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath and Union Minister Jayant Chaudhary, was characterized as a major staging ground ahead of the 2027 Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections.
Taking aim at the Samajwadi Party (SP) alongside the Congress, Nabin remarked that Uttar Pradesh has transformed into a state of expressways, where a “punctured bicycle” cannot run.
He contrasted the turnout of the NDA’s grassroots padayatras across districts with the opposition’s recent rally at Delhi’s Ramlila Maidan, arguing that the opposition struggled to draw even a fraction of the crowds it claimed.
