Hamirpur, 28 August (HS). After serving notice of eviction on the pretext of Idgah land, investigation started on Wednesday on the complaint of residential house owners found that Idgah is not built on the land of Waqf Board but on the land of Gram Samaj. Madrasa running in Idgah is recognized but due to negligible number of students, action will be taken to cancel the recognition. The committee could not provide any kind of records to the investigation team on the spot even after giving hours of time. The investigation team has accepted that the committee is working arbitrarily. The investigation report will be sent to the District Magistrate and senior officials of Minority Department for action.
Anjuman Nurul Islam Committee has been formed for the management of Idgah and Madrasa situated on Banki Marg in Sumerpur. The chairman of this committee is Tufail Khan and secretary is Asad Ullah. On 13th August, the chairman and secretary of the committee sent a notice to the house owners living behind the Idgah through a lawyer and instructed them to vacate the house saying that this land belongs to Idgah. This notice created panic among the people. After receiving the notice, the people living behind the Idgah complained about the matter to District Magistrate Rahul Pandey.
The district magistrate had assigned the investigation of the case to Minority Welfare Officer Himanshu Agarwal. On Wednesday, the District Minority Welfare Officer reached Eidgah and first of all inspected the Darul Nurul Islam Madrasa operating in Eidgah and after questioning the Madrasa's Maulvi Zahid Ali, summoned the Madrasa's records but he could not show anything. He said that the Madrasa's Mutawalli is Hafiz Saif Ullah and he has the documents. After a lot of struggle, the Committee's Chairman Tufail Ahmed appeared before the investigation team and presented the Khatauni etc. of Eidgah but he could not show any documents of the Waqf Board.
The investigation team was not satisfied with this and they said that this is not the property of the Waqf Board but the property of the village society. The committee is operating against the rules. The madrasa is recognized but the number of students is negligible. Due to this, action will be taken to cancel its recognition. The District Minority Welfare Officer said that this property does not belong to the Waqf Board but to the village society. Its investigation report will be prepared and sent to the District Magistrate along with the higher officials of the Minority Welfare Department for action. Minority Welfare Department clerks Suresh Kumar, Sohanlal etc. were present during the investigation.
