News India Live, Digital Desk: Farah Khan… the name of Bollywood which we know for brilliant choreography, superhit films and cool style. Especially his film ‘Om Shanti Om’, which showed Shahrukh Khan in six-pack abs and made Deepika Padukone a star, is still one of people’s favorite films. But do you know that when happy songs like ‘All is Well’ and ‘Aankhon Mein Teri’ were playing on the screen, the director of that film Farah Khan was going through a lot of pain inside?
This was the pain that every woman feels who wants to become a mother, but luck is not on her side. Farah Khan has recently revealed that during the making of ‘Om Shanti Om’, she was trying to become a mother through IVF (In Vitro Fertilization), and in the process she had to face failure not once, but twice.
Direction on set, injection in vanity van
Recalling her difficult period in a recent interview, Farah said, “During the shooting of Om Shanti Om, I was undergoing IVF… I used to take injections in the vanity van. It was very difficult.”
Talking about his mental state during that period, he said, “When your IVF fails, it feels like your baby has died. So just before the shooting of ‘Dard-e-Disco’ I had an IVF failure. I had IVF failure twice during ‘Om Shanti Om’.”
“I just kept crying…”
Farah told that the mental and emotional pain of this process is more than the physical pain. He said, “I would just keep crying. People thought I was very moody, but they had no idea what I was going through.” She also told that at that time people did not talk openly about IVF, so it became even more difficult. Shahrukh Khan was one of the few people who knew about his struggle and always supported him.
And then came three joys
It is said that in God’s house there is delay, not darkness. After suffering the pain of failure twice, Farah Khan and her husband Shirish Kunder’s prayers were finally heard. Shortly after the film’s release, Farah, at the age of 43, gave birth to triplets – a son and two daughters – through IVF.
This story of Farah Khan is not just the story of a successful filmmaker, but it is also the story of a strong woman who, despite being at the heights of her career, was silently fighting a battle to become a mother. This story gives courage to millions of women who go through this painful journey.
