FWICE angry over Manoj Bajpayee’s film, demands removal of ‘Pandit’ from title; Voice of ban on Netflix raised:

Mumbai Upcoming film of Bollywood actor Manoj Bajpayee ‘Ghushkhor Pandit’ (Ghooskhor Pandat) has been embroiled in major controversies even before its release. ‘Federation of Western India Cine Employees’ (FWICE) has opened a front against the producers regarding the title of the film. Federation President BN Tiwari on Saturday strongly condemned the use of the word ‘Pandit’ in the title of the film, calling it an insult to a particular community.

FWICE has made it clear that they will not cooperate in any way with the makers of this film and have also demanded strict action against the streaming platform Netflix.

BN Tiwari’s sharp attack: ‘Playing with public sentiments cannot be tolerated’

While talking to news agency ANI, BN Tiwari took the film’s director, producer and Netflix to task. He said, “It is wrong to use a particular surname in the name of a film. Films are for entertainment, not to degrade any community. Producers and directors have no right to make films which play with the sentiments of the public.”

Tiwari further warned that times have changed. Earlier, due to lack of social media, the voice of the audience was suppressed, but now any derogatory content will not be tolerated. FWICE has declared complete non-cooperation with the manufacturers.

Producer Neeraj Pandey’s clarification: Teaser of the film removed

Producer of the film seeing the growing controversy Neeraj Pandey Has immediately issued an official statement. He clarified that the aim of the film is not to hurt the sentiments of any community. To quell the controversy, the makers have removed all promotional materials of the film, including its first look teaser, from social media and other platforms.
