In the BJP -ruled state of Goa, an IPS officer has become expensive due to gathering intelligence on Bajrang Dal leaders. The Government of Goa suddenly transferred Sunita Sawant, Superintendent of Police (SP) of South Goa district. This information was given from the midnight police control room through ‘Wireless Sandesh’. However, police sources said that SP Sunita Sawant has been transferred as part of the ‘regular process’ on Monday night and Tikam Singh Verma, SP of the ‘Anti-Narcotics’ cell, has been appointed in his place.

According to police sources, SP Sawant received the order of transfer when he sent a wireless message to all the police stations to collect information of Bajrang Dal members. The opposition Congress has alleged that the move reflects the “communal agenda” of the RSS-BJP, calling this transfer ‘politics’.

Goa Pradesh Congress Committee President Amit Patkar said in a statement, “As soon as SP Sunita Sawant started collecting information of Bajrang Dal leaders in Goa, the government got nervous and immediately transferred them. This shows that the BJP is engaged in protecting its ideological colleagues, not the administration. ” He also said that this transfer is an attempt to scare honest officers so that they do not take any action on communal forces.

On the other hand, Bajrang Dal’s Goa convenor Viraj Desai said that he has no idea about this transfer. He said, “We are active organizations in nation building and organize many programs for the youth. We do not know why SP was transferred. “

Meanwhile, Goa Director General of Police Alok Kumar said that the decision to transfer SP level officers is taken by the state government and it would not be appropriate to comment on it. The Congress has sought clarification from Chief Minister Pramod Sawant on transfer. Describing it as an intervention in the judicial process, he said to support honest officers. Let me tell you that the Bajrang Dal has been active in Goa and it had organized a huge public meeting in the village of South Goa last month, which was addressed by Telangana MLA T Raja Singh.
