ISRO created history, 100th mission in space, successful launch of GSLV-F15 rocket

ISRO News: ISRO created history by completing a century of rocket launch from Sriharikota’s Satish Dhawan Space Center. ISRO on Wednesday launched a navigation satellite (NVS-02) via GSLV-F15 rocket. The Navic consists of five second -generation satellites. Earlier on May 29, 2023, NVS-01 was launched by GSLV-F12.

What will the satellite do?

This navigation satellite (NVS-02), launched by GSLV-F15 rocket, will help in proper tracking and guidance of transport. Will efficiently track air and sea traffic. Residents, local navigation will increase defense capabilities while running military operations.

How far will the range help?

This will provide accurate status, speed and time information to users in areas up to about 1,500 km from Indian subcontinent as well as Indian subcontinent. NAVIS-02 is designed to ensure the continuity of navigation services for NVS.

NVS-02 will help satellite transport, defense and logistics

The Navic consists of five second -generation satellites. Earlier on May 29, 2023, NVS-01 was launched by GSLV-F12. The NVS-02 satellite designed by the UR Satellite Center weighs around 2,250 kg. It consists of NVS-01-like payload in C-Band, as well as L1, L5 and navigation in the band. NVS-02 will help in satellite transport, defense and logistics. This will also help agriculture, class fixation for satellites, location based services in mobile equipment, emergency services.
