Actress and Human Rights Ambassador Sheena Chauhan, who has won the UN Hero Award, is now taking forward the global conversation on equality, discrimination, women’s safety and dignity through a new international platform.

Sheena Chauhan has brought human rights awareness to more than 150 million people in South Asia. In this mission he worked with many actors including Preity Zinta, Sonakshi Sinha, Guneet Monga, Sonu Sood. Now Sheena, along with many American artists and influential personalities, is preparing to spread India’s human rights philosophy to the world.

Important issues like right to education, ending discrimination, stopping human trafficking and slavery, women’s safety and equality have been raised in his campaign. Sheena has explained the 30 basic human rights in common language and how they apply in our home, school, office and society.

On Human Rights Day, Sheena said:
“Human rights have given me direction and purpose. These are the foundation of our dignity, but in our fast-paced lives we forget them. My endeavor is to make every child, every parent and every citizen easily understand their rights and duties.”

Sheena’s special focus is on educating children. Every Sunday, he goes to schools with his team and gives this knowledge to children in a simple way from the book of Human Rights. Till now she has reached more than 100–150 schools. She says, “Women’s safety starts with respect – and respect starts with education. When children learn equality from an early age, they understand women’s respect. That respect becomes women’s safety.”

New podcast ‘East Meet West’ launched

On the occasion of Human Rights Day, Sheena has just launched her new video podcast channel “East Meets West”, which aims to make the youth understand their rights and responsibilities. In the first episode, actress and writer Elena Cardón talks about the rights of women and children, while in the second episode, Venezuelan actress Rudy Rodríguez discusses “the right to responsibility.” The podcast will also cover issues such as education, equality, rights against slavery and torture.

Sheena Chauhan has been impressing people not only with her acting but also with her social work. His commitment to human rights is now paving the way for global discussions—where new ideas based on education, equality and sensitivity can be brought to the world.
