Sachin Tendulkar scored a brilliant century in the Old Trafford Test against England on Pakistan's Independence Day on 14 August 1990, almost three and a half decades ago. The result was that the Test match in which England had the possibility of winning ended in a draw thanks to Sachin's first Test century. The big thing is that when Sachin Tendulkar achieved this feat, he was just 17 years old.
Sachin scored a century in the fourth innings and drew the match
Chasing a target of 408 runs given by England, 17-year-old Sachin Tendulkar batted for 225 minutes and got the match drawn. He scored 119 runs off 189 balls and remained unbeaten till the end. That is until the Test was drawn. India's defeat was not averted. Even young Sachin Tendulkar did not leave the field.
