The news of tension is in the news these days in Bollywood actor Raj Babbar’s family. Prateek Babbar, who is the son of late actress Smita Patil and Raj Babbar, has changed her surname to ‘Smita Patil’. Prateek said that he wants to be like his mother, not like his father.
Now Arya Babbar, the half -brother of Prateek, has given his response to this issue.
Arya Babbar’s answer: ‘Smita Maa was also ours’
In an interview given to Hindustan Times, Arya Babbar reacted to this matter and said-
“I would just like to say that Smita Maa was also ours. It is her (symbol) choice as to what name she wants to keep and what is not. Tomorrow, if I only give my name to Arya Babbar with Arya Babbar, I will still be Babbar, right?”
Arya further said that anyone can change his name, but not his identity.
“You can change your name, but not your existence. I will always be Babbar, because this is my identity. How can you change it?”
Why did Prateik Babbar change his name?
Prateek Babbar recently revealed in an interview to Times of India that she has decided to adopt her mother’s legacy.
He said-
“I don’t care about what will be the results of this decision. Just when I hear my name, this is what I feel. I want to fully join my mother, her name and her legacy. I don’t think any other name needs to be blotted on that heritage. I want to be like my mother, not like my dad.”
Raj Babbar has not given any response yet
Amidst this entire controversy, Raj Babbar has not yet made any official statement on the issue. However, there is a lot of discussion on this issue in the Bollywood corridors.
Now the thing to see will be what react to Raj Babbar and in which direction does this dispute go in the family.
