Chandigarh: A person named Harjinder Singh alias Zinda has challenged in the High Court the order of the Sessions Court, Nakodar, to cancel the FIR registered against Punjabi singer Gurdas Maan for hurting religious sentiments in Nakodar. Justice Sandeep Moudgil of Punjab and Haryana High Court has issued notice to all the parties and sought their reply by June 13. It has been said in the petition that Gurdas Maan described Ladi Shah as a descendant of Guru Amar Das Ji and compared him with Gurus, which hurts the sentiments of the Sikhs.
Let us tell you here that as the matter escalated, Gurdas Mann had expressed regret over the above statements on social media, which have been attached in the petition.
The petitioner says that the Sessions Court ignored the evidence and did not even review it. Even the review petition filed against the order to cancel the FIR was rejected. The petitioner said that he has strong evidence which shows that Gurdas Maan has hurt the sentiments of Sikhs.
