Sarfaraz Khan: Indian batsman Sarfaraz Khan made his Test debut against England in February 2024 under the captaincy of Rohit Sharma. Sarfaraz Khan batted brilliantly in his first match. He took full advantage of the opportunity in the series against England and scored 200 runs with three half-centuries in three matches. Sarfaraz also got full support from captain Rohit Sharma in this series. Meanwhile, Sarfaraz Khan has given a big statement about Rohit Sharma.
Sarfaraz Khan has compared Rohit Sharma to Aamir Khan from Bollywood blockbuster film 'Lagaan'. The young batsman said that Rohit treats everyone in the Test team with equal respect and maintains a happy atmosphere in the dressing room. Speaking to Geo Cinema ahead of India's Test series against Bangladesh, Sarfaraz Khan said, “Rohit bhai is very different. Rohit Sharma is like an elder brother. It is fun to play under his captaincy.” Rohit doesn't treat him like a junior but treats everyone equally.
He further said that Lagaan is his favorite film. Just like Aamir Khan had created that team in the film, Rohit Sharma is also like Aamir Khan for this team. Rohit Sharma has led India in 16 matches since taking over the captaincy from Virat Kohli in 2022.
Wicketkeeper batsman Dhruv Jurel praised Rohit's batting and said that he was surprised to see the opener playing so closely. Jurel also made his Test debut during India's Test series against England earlier this year. He said that when he used to watch Rohit on TV, people used to say that he has too much time to play shots. But, when you watch him closely, you realize that the balls you struggle with easily reach the stands. His pull shot is quite famous. It is special to see these things closely. He is a great player.
