Why did ED oppose the bail?

The Enforcement Directorate (ED), which is investigating the entire scam, had strongly opposed Vinay Singh’s bail. ED alleges that Vinay Singh is an important part of a big syndicate which used to take illegal possession of lands through fake documents.

According to ED, Vinay Singh also played an important role in acquiring land for former Chief Minister Hemant Soren. The investigating agency told the court that Vinay Singh was in direct contact with the leaders of the land-grabbing gang.

ED claims that Bhanu Pratap had also sent these fake documents to Vinay Singh. The allegation is that Vinay Singh was conspiring to take over the lands by using these fake documents.
