News India Live, Digital Desk: A big and relief news has come for lakhs of migrant laborers and employees of Bihar working in Uttar Pradesh. To promote voting in the Bihar Assembly elections 2025, the Uttar Pradesh government has announced that all the employees who are voters of Bihar will be required to register themselves on the voting day to exercise their franchise. Paid Leave Will be given.

This decision has been taken following the instructions of the Election Commission of India, so that no citizen is deprived of voting just because he is working outside his home state.

On which dates will you get leave?

In view of the elections being held in different phases in Bihar, voters from Bihar working in UP will be given leave mainly on two dates, which are the key dates of voting there:

  • 6 November 2025
  • 11 November 2025

The registered voters of the assembly constituencies where elections will be held on these dates, who work in any private or public sector industry, shop or establishment in Uttar Pradesh, will be entitled to this paid leave.

What does the government order say?

In the order issued by the Chief Secretary of Uttar Pradesh, it is clearly stated that:

  • All the voters of Bihar state, who are working in Uttar Pradesh, will be provided leave on the polling day i.e. 6th and 11th November.
  • this one ‘Paid leave’ Which means that no deduction of any kind will be made from the salary of the employees for this leave.
  • This order has been sent to all the District Magistrates (DMs) and Heads of Departments of the state so that it can be strictly followed.

Why is this decision important?

Lakhs of people from Bihar work in Uttar Pradesh, especially in the border districts of Eastern Uttar Pradesh and big cities like Lucknow, Kanpur, Noida. These people are an important voter group in Bihar politics. Often, due to lack of work and leave, these people were not able to go to their villages to vote.

With this decision of the government, it will now become easier for these millions of migrants to exercise their democratic rights, which is expected to increase the voting percentage in Bihar elections. This is a big victory for democracy, where the importance of every vote is being understood.
