Saphala Ekadashi 2025 date and time: The year 2025 is now on its way and the tenth month of the Hindu calendar i.e. ‘Paush’ is about to begin. The specialty of this month is that it starts with a fast of Lord Vishnu which removes all the bad deeds of humans. We are talking about ‘Saphala Ekadashi’. As the word ‘successful’ is hidden in its name itself, it is believed that the person observing fast on this day gets the seal of success in every task of his life.

It is said in the mythology that the same virtue that is attained by doing penance for 5000 years is attained by observing fast and night vigil on Saphala Ekadashi with full devotion.

Note down the date (Saphala Ekadashi Date)

This time there is no confusion in the dates regarding Saphala Ekadashi.

  • Start of Ekadashi Tithi: 14th December at 8:47 PM.
  • End of Ekadashi Tithi: 15th December at 10:08 pm.

In our religion only ‘Udayatithi’ (date at the time of sunrise) is accepted. Therefore, the fast of Saphala Ekadashi will be observed on Monday, 15 December 2025.

‘Golden time’ of puja (auspicious time)

This time, a very special ‘Abhijeet Muhurta’ is being formed on Ekadashi, which is considered best for worship and auspicious works.

  • Morning Muhurat: 7:06 am to 8:24 am.
  • Most important time (Abhijit Muhurta): 11:56 am to 12:27 pm. (Try to do your main puja at this time).

When to break the fast? (passage time)

Breaking the fast at the right time is as important as keeping it. The fast of Saphala Ekadashi will be broken in the morning on the next day i.e. on 16th December.

  • Parana Time: Between 07:07 AM to 09:11 AM. At this time you can break your fast and consume food.

Why is this day special? (mythological importance)

According to religious beliefs, Saphala Ekadashi is very dear to Lord Vishnu. It is said that on this day, if you make any wish with a true heart, then Shri Hari does not let it go unfulfilled. There is a story in the Puranas about a great sinner named ‘Lumpak’, who, albeit unknowingly, observed fast and vigil on this day, due to which all his sins were washed away and he attained Vaikuntha.

So if you too are waiting for success in your career, business or life, then 15th December is no less than a boon for you. Chant the mantra “Om Namo Bhagavate Vasudevaya” and get the blessings of Sri Hari.
