Congress was waiting for an alliance
It was believed that Union Home Minister Amit Shah was in talks with Akali Dal regarding alliance. But the core committee of Akali Dal spoiled the entire mathematics by keeping principles above politics. On the other hand, Congress was also waiting for the alliance of BJP-Shramoni Akali Dal. Congress's strategy was to present itself as a strong opponent. Congress believes that if there was an Akali-BJP alliance, the alliance would have faced defeat. Now the picture regarding the alliance has become clear. In such a situation, now Congress will compete with Aam Aadmi Party.
