Chinese Embassy Organizes Online Seminar; Left-Wing Of Indian Polity’s Attendance Raises Questi

New Delhi: An online seminar was organized by the Chinese Embassy in India on Tuesday, July 27 in which representatives of Left-Wing participated. The seminar was organized as part of the centenary celebrations of the Communist Party, the theme of which was Sharing Experience on Party Building, Promoting Exchange, and Cooperation.

But on the pretext of the meeting, China not only raised the issue of border tension but also tried to justify its actions in incidents like Galvan in Eastern Ladakh last year. The event was addressed by Sun Weidong, Ambassador of China to India. CPI(M) general secretary Sitaram Yechury, CPI general secretary D Raja, Lok Sabha MP S Senthil Kumar, All India Forward Bloc secretary G Devarajan were present as Left Wing representatives.

Du Xiaolin also attended the online event.

Bureau Counselor Du Xiaolin from the Department of International Cooperation of the Communist Party of China also attended the online seminar. During the address, the Chinese Ambassador described the rise of the Communist Party of China and spoke about the organizational building and development of China under the leadership of President Xi Jinping.

Ambassador Sun cited India-China relations as a relationship of great potential and spoke about resolving disputes through dialogue peacefully. He said that we take border differences seriously. But merely highlighting differences will not lead to a solution. Rather, it will only reduce mutual trust, making the path of solution more difficult.

During the speech, the Chinese Ambassador also referred to the Galvan Valley incident and said that the matter of right and wrong is clear in the incident on the border last year. China has clarified its position many times. The two sides are in contact at the military and diplomatic levels.

We have to take into account the response from China – the Chinese Embassy

However, in the statement issued by the Chinese embassy, the response of the left party leaders to China’s allegations on the border dispute is not clear. When asked about this, a senior Left Wing leader said that we have to take into account the response of China Thereafter we will be able to comment on the issue.

The Indian government has through official statements stressed, that the skirmish between the soldiers of the two countries in Galvan Valley on 15 June 2020 was a deliberate action of the Chinese army. In this incident, 20 soldiers of the Indian Army including a Colonel, were martyred.

No official statement was issued by CPI(M)

It is worth noting that the Indian government did not officially send any congratulatory message on the centenary celebrations of the Chinese Communist Party amid the ongoing 14-month-old Indo-China border tension in the eastern Ladakh region. Meanwhile, the Chinese government definitely thanked the Left Wing for the congratulatory message on the completion of 100 years of the Communist Party of China.

It is worth noting that the embassy shared information about this program hosted by the Chinese government. But no official statement was issued by the country’s largest left party CPIM.
