Railways is working on a new digital ecosystem called ‘Rail Rewards’ It is being said:
Earn Points: When you book tickets through IRCTC website or app, reward points will be credited to your account based on your distance and class of travel.
Free Ticket (Redemption): Once you have accumulated a certain amount of points you can use them. Zero Cost (Free) You will be able to book tickets on.
Class Upgrade: These points can also be used to upgrade your seat from Sleeper to Third AC or from Third AC to Second AC.
2. Rule of ‘free meal’ in case of train delay (IRCTC Rules)
Very few passengers know that as per the existing rules of Railways, meals and snacks are available absolutely free under certain circumstances:
Eligible Trains: This feature is especially Rajdhani, Shatabdi and Duronto Like it is for passengers of premium trains.

Condition: This facility can be availed through the online portal at least 48 hours before the departure of the train.
4. VIP lounge and other facilities
Free Tea/Snacks: Railway lounges located at major stations are offering free tea, coffee and Wi-Fi to select credit card or loyalty card holders.
Waiting Room: For premium class passengers, the process of entry into ‘Executive Lounge’ at stations is now being linked to reward points.
