News India Live, Digital Desk: Rural Development Minister during the budget session in Jharkhand Assembly Deepika Pandey Singh Has given very good news to the people of the state regarding Abua Housing Scheme. He told in the House that the state government is taking forward its resolve to provide permanent roofs to the poor more strongly. In the coming phases, both the target of houses to be built under the scheme and the amount of assistance given per house will be increased.
Budget and new target: The minister informed that the financial year 2026-27 Under Abua Housing Scheme for Rs 4,400 crore Provision has been made.
Number of houses: this year approximately 4,44,257 new residences The target has been set to construct. The overall target of the government is to build 20 lakh houses.
Amount may increase: At present, financial assistance of Rs 2 lakh is given to the beneficiaries, which is proposed to be increased in future. Additionally, under MNREGA 95 days wages (Approximately Rs 24,000+) is available separately.
Who will get priority? The minister clarified that the beneficiaries whose houses Kutcha Houses are eligible, they will be given first priority in the selection process. Apart from this, the families who were deprived of the benefits of Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) are getting the direct benefits of this scheme.
Key Features of the Scheme:
3 room house: Under this scheme, a permanent house of 31 square meters with 3 rooms, kitchen and toilet is provided.
Payment in 5 installments: An amount of Rs 2 lakh is sent directly to the bank account (DBT) in 5 different stages (from foundation to finishing).
Geo-tagging: To prevent corruption, geo-tagging of every residence has now been made mandatory.
The Minister also said that there is a continuous demand from the Central Government to increase the amount of assistance, so that even the last person in the state can get better housing.
