Bangladesh Army Chief: On 5 August 2024, there was a coup in Bangladesh, in which the then Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was removed from power. Since then, the radical government led by Muhammad Yunus has been in power in Bangladesh. Meanwhile, extremists are now trying to strengthen their grip on the army and with the support of ISI, there are plans to coup there. This can be done under the leadership of Lieutenant General Mohammad Faiz-ur Rahman. He is currently a quartermaster general of the Bangladesh Army and is considered a radical Islamic thinker. So far, it has been learned that he can revolt against the current Army Chief General Waqar-e-Z-Zaman.
Trying to give new color to Bangladesh Army with the support of ISI
According to reports, when the ISI Chief Dhaka came last week, the delegation met by him was leading the Faiz-ur-Rehman. It is also being said that efforts are being made to give a new color to the Bangladesh Army with the cooperation of ISI. Especially an attempt is being made to remove the Indian impression on the Bangladeshi army. Faiz-ur-Rahman’s attempt is to get enough support in the army to force Waqar to step down. For this, efforts are also being made to seek help of Bangladesh’s intelligence agency DGFI.
Waqar-ez-Zaman is considered a military leader with medieval ideology. He has been one of India’s supporters and has played an important role in maintaining peace and cooperation with India on the border. Despite the occupation of Islamic forces on the country, he has been able to protect the army from radical forces till now, but now his days are seen to be lagging. It is believed that Sheikh Hasina was allowed to come to India safely from military aircraft only because of Waqar-e-Zaman. If Sheikh Hasina had not been given such facility in time, she would have been in jail today or would have been victims of an accident under the guise of violent protest.
